| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: April 11, 2008 Golden Meadow Man Dead in Three Vehicle Crash in Lafourche Parish On Thursday, April 10, 2008 just before 5:00 pm, a crash involving a pickup truck and two 18 wheelers in Lafourche Parish south of Golden Meadow resulted in the death of a Golden Meadow man. A 1996 Dodge Ram, operated by Dennis Collins (W/M, 68, of Golden Meadow, LA) was traveling north on LA 1when it exited a slight left curve and crossed the center line. The Dodge Ram sideswiped the flat-bed trailer near the trailer tires of a 2000 Freightliner, operated by Terry Adkins (W/M, 54, of Angleton, TX). The pickup continued in the southbound lane and sideswiped the tractor and trailer of another 2000 Freightliner operated by Daniel Chartian (B/M, 49, of Houston, TX). Mr. Collins was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash. Mr. Collins was transported to Lady of the Sea Hospital where he died from the injuries he sustained in the crash. Neither of the two 18 wheeler drivers were injured. Blood was taken from Mr. Collins for analysis and results are pending. Both Mr. Adkins and Mr. Chartian submitted breath tests with blood alcohol results of .000g%. Tpr. Evan Harrell is continuing his investigation of the crash.
