| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: April 23, 2008 Two Vehicle Crash in Lafourche Parish Kills One On Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at approximately 2:50 pm, a crash involving two pickup trucks in Lafourche Parish on LA 308 (milepost 66.5) in Larose resulted in the death of a Larose man. A 1992 Mazda Pickup, operated by Drew Pellegrin (W/M, 43, of Larose, LA) was traveling southbound on LA 308 in Larose. A 2003 GMC Sierra, driven by a 16 year old white male from Raceland, was northbound on LA 308. Drew Pellegrin made a left turn to go into a private drive and turned in front of the GMC. The 16 year old driver of the GMC steered right to avoid the Mazda, but impact was made on the northbound shoulder. The Mazda came to rest off the roadway and the GMC came to rest partially on the northbound shoulder. Mr. Pellegrin was not wearing his seatbelt and died at the scene from his injuries sustained in the crash. The 16 year old was wearing his seatbelt and sustained only minor injuries. He was transported to Lady of the Sea Hospital by private vehicle. The 16 year old submitted to a breath test with a result of .000g%. Blood was taken from Mr. Pellegrin, and results are pending analysis from the Lafourche Parish Coroner’s Office. The crash is being investigated by Tpr. Kerry Thibodaux.
