Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: June 13, 2008 Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office Deputy Arrested On June 13, 2008, detectives with the Louisiana State Police, West District and Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Michael Pintado, 33, a deputy with the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office on charges of Aggravated Kidnapping, Aggravated Rape, Simple Battery, Obscenity and Malfeasance in Office. The arrest was the result of a joint Louisiana State Police and Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct reported by a 26 year old female motorist, who later sought treatment at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center. The incident occurred during the early morning hours of June 12, 2008, following a traffic stop which occurred on LA Highway 1 north of LA Highway 1011 in Assumption Parish. Pintado was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center Friday afternoon. Bond was set at $250,000.00. For more information contact: TFC Gilbert B.
