Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: May 29, 2008 Raceland Teen Dies in Single Vehicle Crash on LA 307 On Thursday, May 29, 2008 at approximately 12:00 PM Louisiana State Police, Troop C investigated a single vehicle fatal crash on LA 307 approximately 7 ½ miles north of LA 182. The crash involved a Ford F250 driven by a 16 year old male from Bayou Blue, LA. The Ford was traveling north on LA 307 in a slight left curve when it went off the roadway to the right, corrected to the left, and overcorrected back to the right. The Ford ran off the right side of the road while rotating clockwise and struck a large tree before coming to rest. The 16 year old driver sustained moderate injuries and was transported by Air Med to St. Anne Hospital. The front seat passenger, Devon Pearson (W/M, 15, of Raceland, LA), sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene. Both occupants in this crash were properly restrained.
