| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: May 11, 2008 South Lafourche Crash Claims Life of Mother and Two Children; One Child Critical and Several Others Injured On Saturday, May 10, 2008 at approximately 7:45 pm, three people died in a head-on collision on LA 308 in Larose in Lafourche Parish. Binh Pham, 18, of Larose was driving a 2004 white Honda Odyssey south on LA 308 when she fell asleep at the wheel. Her van crossed the centerline and struck a northbound Ford Focus. The green 2001 Ford Focus was being driven by Dawn Graham, 32, of Cut Off. The driver, Binh Pham, front seat passenger, Thong Phan, 48, of Larose (who is the driver’s father), rear seat passengers, Oanh Pham, 54, of Larose (who is the driver’s mother) and the driver’s 15 year old brother were all transported to St. Anne Hospital. Binh and Thong received what appeared to be moderate injuries. They were wearing their seat belts. Oanh and the 15 year old were not wearing their seat belts. The 15 year old received what appeared to be minor injuries. Oanh received what appeared to be moderate injuries. The driver and mother, Dawn Graham, her 10 year old daughter who was the front seat passenger, and her 8 year old son who was the rear seat passenger received fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. Dawn Graham’s other rear seat passenger was her 13 year old daughter and she received critical injuries and was transported to Lady of the Sea Hospital by Acadian Ambulance. She was later transported to University Hospital in New Orleans. Dawn Graham was wearing her seat belt; however, none of the children were wearing their seat belts. Alcohol and drug use are unknown at this time; however, blood test are pending analysis on both drivers. Currently, there are no charges in the crash. Troopers are continuing their investigation.
