Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: May 26, 2008 Three Unrestrained Occupants Perish in Crash On Monday, May 26, 2008 at 12:48 AM, Louisiana State Police, Troop C investigated a two vehicle fatal crash on LA 3127 on the west bank of St. John the Baptist Parish. The crash involved a 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by Travell Gordon (B/M, 28 yrs) of Vacherie, LA and a 2005 Ford Explorer driven by Clinton Sutherland (B/M, 35 yrs) of Vacherie, LA. The Chevrolet was traveling southbound on LA 3127 making a left turn onto LA 640. The driver of the Chevrolet, Gordon failed to yield when turning and proceeded into the path of the Ford, which was traveling northbound on LA 3127. The driver of the Chevrolet, Gordon and two other occupants in the vehicle, Lawrence Priestley (B/M, 35 yrs of Vacherie, LA) and Deaneea Narcisse (B/F, 27 yrs of Vacherie, LA) suffered fatal injuries in the crash and were pronounced dead on the scene. None of the occupants in the Chevrolet were wearing their seatbelts. The driver of the Ford, Sutherland was transported to Thibodaux Regional Hospital with moderate injuries. Mr. Sutherland was also not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Driver impairment is unknown at this time. (Results pending a toxicology examination.) Trooper R.
