Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: February 12, 2009 Child Pornography Arrest Made in Thibodaux, LA Thibodaux- A 24 year old man was arrested yesterday in Lafourche Parish after child pornography was found during a search of his Thibodaux residence. On Wednesday, February 11, 2009, the Louisiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division and Troop C conducted a search warrant at 1117 Lee Dr., Thibodaux, LA in Lafourche Parish. The search warrant was the result of a child pornography complaint from a confidential source about James Breuhl (W/M, 24). The complaint alleged that Breuhl was downloading and distributing pornographic images of children from the internet at his residence. After an investigation was conducted by troopers from the Houma and Lafayette Offices of State Police Criminal Investigations, a search warrant was issued for the residence. Inside the residence, troopers discovered several videos of small children in sexual situations. Breuhl admitted to troopers that he had downloaded the images because of his “curiosity.” Troopers arrested Breulh for Possession of Child Pornography. If convicted, Breuhl faces two to five years in prison as well as being required to register as a Sexual Offender for the remainder of his life.
