Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: September 18, 2010 Morgan City Resident Killed in Crash on US 90 Terrebonne Parish – On Friday, September 17, 2010 at approximately 8:10PM, Louisiana State Police Troop C responded to a crash on US 90. Preliminary investigation revealed that Tammy M. James (B/F, age 46) of Morgan City, LA, was driving a 2008 Toyota Tacoma west on US 90 at mile post 198.5. Her husband, Richard L. James Jr. (B/M, age 68) of Morgan City, LA, was riding in the bed of the Tacoma in order to secure furniture that they were transporting. The furniture shifted while the Tacoma was in motion and Mr. James Jr. was knocked out of the truck. He was transported to Thibodaux Regional Hospital by Acadian EMS with severe injuries. Mr. James Jr. later died at the hospital. The crash is still under investigation. However, alcohol and speed are not considered factors of the crash. Blood samples were taken and the results are pending at the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab in Baton Rouge.
