Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: March 14, 2010 Missing 19 Year Old Thibodaux Teen Dies in Crash Larose – On Sunday, March 14, 2010 at 4:00 p.m., deputies with the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office, located tire tracks leading to the Intracoastal Waterway from LA 657 in Larose, LA. After further investigation, it was determined that the vehicle and driver had been reported missing on Thursday, March 11, 2010. The single vehicle crash on LA 657 in Lafourche Parish claimed the life of a 19 year old male from Thibodaux, LA. Jerry J. Hebert (W/M, 19 of Thibodaux, LA) was operating a 1995 GMC Yukon northbound on LA 657 in Larose, LA. Hebert failed to negotiate a right turn at which time the vehicle continued off the roadway struck an embankment, overturned, and came to rest in the Intracoastal Waterway. Hebert, who was wearing a seatbelt, received fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lafourche Parish Coroner’s Office. Alcohol and / or drug usage is unknown; however, speed appears to be a factor in the crash. Blood results are pending from the Lafourche Parish Coroner’s Office. No charges were filed.
