A quarter-mile parameter was established in all directions around the scene. Businesses in the immediate area were advised to shelter in place, their employees. ES& H (Environmental Safety and Health Consulting Division) performed the cleanup, and was assisted by the Louisiana State Police HAZ MAT Unit, Louisiana State Police Troop C, Harbor Police, Fire District #3, DEQ (Department of Environmental Quality), U.S. Coast Guard, and Lafourche Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness.
