Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: April 9, 2010 Two 35 Year Old Men Die in Crash Thibodaux – On Friday, April 09, 2010 at 1:27 a.m., a single vehicle crash on LA 308 in Lafourche Parish claimed the life of two 35 year old males, one of Thibodaux, LA. and one of Harvey, LA. Joshua Trosclair (W/M, 35 of Thibodaux, LA) was operating a 1998 Buick Century northbound on LA 308 near Thibodaux, LA. For unknown reasons, the vehicle ran off the roadway of the northbound lane to the right. The vehicle struck a ditch, a culvert and came to rest in a nearby lot; at which time, the vehicle became engulfed in flames trapping both driver and passenger in the vehicle. Fire was extinguished and extrication performed by the St. John Volunteer Fire Department. Trosclair and right front seat passenger, Henry Rodriguez (O/M, 35 of Harvey, LA) both received fatal injuries. Trosclair and Rodriguez were both transported to Thibodaux Regional Medical Center where they were pronounced dead from injuries received in the crash. Alcohol and drug usage is unknown; however, fatigue appears to be a factor in the crash. Seat belt usage is unknown due to the fire. Blood results are pending from the Lafourche Parish Coroner’s Office. No charges were filed. Troopers are still continuing their investigation.
