TROOP A - NEWS RELEASE July 19, 2015 Troopers Seek Hit and Run Vehicle that Left 14 Year Old in Critical Condition Albany, LA – Shortly before 10:00 pm on July 17, 2015, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a hit and run crash that occurred on LA 43 north of LA 442 in Livingston Parish. The crash resulted in a 14 year old male being seriously injured. The initial investigation by State Police revealed that the crash occurred as two pedestrians were walking in the southbound of LA 43. At the same time, an unknown vehicle was traveling northbound on LA 43 and began passing another vehicle. The unknown vehicle then struck the 14 year old pedestrian in the southbound lane. After striking the pedestrian, the unknown vehicle made a U-turn and fled the scene traveling southbound on LA 43. Based off of witness statements, Troopers believe that the unknown vehicle may be a dark, newer model GMC or Chevrolet pickup. The vehicle may have damage to the front end and possibly a broken left head light. This crash remains under investigation, and Troopers ask that anyone with any information regarding this crash please contact Louisiana State Police Troop A at 225-754-8500, or their local law enforcement agency. | |||
