Edmonson, Superintendent News Release February 3, 2010 Hit and Run Crash Claims the Life of 60-Year-Old New Orleans Man Schriever- Louisiana State Police Troop C investigated a crash on LA 20 near LA 3185 in Schriever, LA. The crash occurred at 05:50 a.m., February 3, 2010, involving a vehicle and pedestrian. The Hit and Run vehicle described, as an 18-wheeler pulling a silver tanker was southbound on LA 20 south of LA 3185. Hit and Run vehicle was in the right lane, when the pedestrian, James Allen (B/M, 60 of New Orleans, LA.) attempted to cross the roadway in front of the Hit and Run vehicle from the southbound shoulder of LA 20. The Hit and Run vehicle continued southbound on LA 20 with damage to the right front tire area of the 18-wheeler. Allen received fatal injuries and was pronounce dead at the scene by Terrebonne Parish Coroner’s Office. Alcohol and Drug use is unknown on Allen with blood results pending from the Terrebonne Parish Coroner’s Office. No charges filed in the crash pending further investigation. Trooper Ben Thibodaux investigated the crash. Troop C is requesting the help of the public in solving this fatal Hit and Run crash.
