| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE Colonel Michael D. Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date of Crash: July 31, 2010 Fatal Crash Claims The Life Of A Pierre Part Man Assumption- On Saturday, July 31, 2010, at approximately 9:08 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop C investigated a fatal crash on LA 70, approximately three and half miles west of LA 69 in Assumption Parish. Jeremy Domangue (W/M, 21 of Pierre Part, LA), was operating a 1989 Nissan pickup eastbound on LA 70 and failed to negotiate a right bank curve. Domangue’s vehicle crossed the centerline striking a westbound 1999 Toyota Camry head-on driven by Daman Crochet (W/M, 36 of Pierre Part, LA.) Domangue received fatal injuries and pronounced dead at the scene. Crochet received critical injuries and was transported to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA. by Acadian Ambulance. Both drivers were not properly restrained and Louisiana law requires everyone in the vehicle to be properly restrained. Speed appears to be a factor in the crash. Alcohol and/or drug usage is not suspected, but blood was drawn as per state law and toxicology results are pending. No charges have been filed and Troopers are continuing their investigation.
