Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release August 13, 2010 Fatal Crash Claims The Life Of A Houma Man Lafourche- On Friday, August 13, 2010, at approximately 11:15 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop C investigated a fatal crash on LA 316, north of US 90 in Lafourche Parish. Dwayne Harris (B/M, 42 of Thibodaux, LA) was operating a 1992 Nissan pickup northbound on LA 316 and for unknown reasons, crossed the center line and struck a southbound 2007 Dodge pickup driven by Kaylen Domangue (W/M, 46 of Houma, LA.). Harris received critical injuries and his right front seat passenger, Burnell Jackson (B/M, 54 of Houma, LA.) received fatal injuries. Harris and Jackson were not properly restrained and were ejected from the vehicle. Domangue was properly restrained and received moderate injuries. Harris and Domangue were transported to Thibodaux Medical Center by Acadian Ambulance. Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lafourche Parish Coroner’s Office. Louisiana law requires everyone in the vehicle to be properly restrained. Alcohol and/or drug usage is unknown, blood was drawn as per state law and toxicology results are pending. No charges have been filed and Troopers are continuing their investigation.
