Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: April 27, 2009 Man Arrested For Possession of Cocaine and Hydrocodone Pills Houma- On April 23, 2009, the Louisiana State Police/Criminal Investigations Division/Houma Office conducted a narcotics investigation that resulted in the seizure of $29,400.00 worth of powder cocaine and $5040.00 worth of hydrocodone pills. Troopers received information from the Baton Rouge Police Department that Jerome Anderson was going to deliver nine ounces of powder cocaine to another individual at the Applebees’ Restaurant parking lot around lunch time. The restaurant was not involved in the criminal activity. Troopers were also assisted by officers from the Houma Police Department and Thibodaux Police Department. Surveillance was established on Anderson’s residence located at 9219 Rome Ct. in Houma, LA. Troopers and officers followed Anderson to the restaurant where a traffic stop was performed upon his arrival. A narcotics detecting canine alerted to Anderson’s vehicle, a 2005 Dodge Magnum. A search of Anderson’s vehicle revealed nine ounces of powder cocaine concealed in a plastic bag under the front seat. Troopers then applied for a search warrant for Anderson’s residence. The search warrant resulted in the seizure of another 1.5 ounces of powder cocaine, a Glock .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun, 168 dosage units of hydrocodone pills, assorted drug paraphernalia and $1232.00 in US currency. Information gathered during the search warrant indicated that Anderson has been transporting large amounts of powder cocaine from a source in Texas and bringing it back to Terrebonne Parish to distribute. Troopers arrested Anderson for Possession With Intent to Distribute Cocaine, Possession With Intent to Distribute Hydrocodone, Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of Narcotics and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The $1232.00 in US currency and the Dodge Magnum were also seized as part of the investigation. Anderson was booked at the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office with a bond of $500,000.00.
