Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: March 12, 2009 Thibodaux Woman Dead After Striking Box Truck Houma- The driver of a Ford F150 died this morning after striking the rear of a box truck on LA 311 just south of South Hollywood Road in Terrebonne Parish. At approximately 8:15 AM, March 12, 2009, Teresa Lipe (W/F, 29, of Thibodaux) was operating a 2001 Ford F-150 northbound on LA 311 when she rear-ended a 2007 Ford F-350 box truck being operated by Christopher Jeblonski (W/M, 27, of Gray). The box truck was stopped behind traffic at a red traffic light. After the initial impact, Jeblonski's truck was pushed forward and to the left striking the rear of a 2006 Ford E-250 Fed-Ex cargo van, operated by Kelly Ramey. The Fed-Ex van was also stopped at a red traffic light. Lipe sustained fatal injuries and pronounced dead at the scene. Jeblonski and Ramey sustained minor injuries; however, they refused medical treatment at the scene. All three drivers were wearing their seat belts. Alcohol and drug use is unknown for Lipe; however, blood analysis is pending from the Terrebonne Parish Coroner's Office. Jeblonski and Ramey both submitted to chemical tests. No alcohol was detected nor was any impairment observed. No charges have been filed, and Troopers John Toups and Tracy Plaisance are continuing their investigation.
