Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: May 20, 2009 Motorcycle Driver Killed in Vacherie, LA Crash Vacherie- A Lutcher man operating a motorcycle was killed after a pick-up truck made a left turn in front his motorcycle on LA 20 in Vacherie, LA. A 2005 Ford F-150 driven by Paul Stein (W/M, 78, of Vacherie, LA) was traveling west on LA 20 in Vacherie. A 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by James Louque (W/M, 42, of Lutcher, LA) was traveling east on LA 20 approaching the Ford from the opposite direction. The Ford F-150, due to driver violation, began to turn left into the private driveway of the Conoco Gas Station and entered into the path of the motorcycle. The motorcycle struck the Ford’s right front bumper causing both the motorcycle driver and passenger to be totally ejected from the motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle, Louque, was pronounced dead on scene and the passenger, Mignonne Keller (W/F, 49, of Lutcher, LA), received serious injuries and was transported to Thibodaux Regional by Acadian Ambulance. The driver of the Ford truck, Stein, was transported to Thibodaux Regional where he was released with no injuries. Both occupants of the motorcycle were wearing approved DOT helmets. Stein was wearing his seat belt during the crash. Alcohol is not suspected on behalf of either driver and speed was not a factor in the crash. No charges have been filed at this time.
