Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: September 12, 2009 North Lafourche Crash Claims Life of Labadieville Man Thibodaux- A two vehicle crash on LA 308 in northern Lafourche Parish claimed the life of one man and moderately injured another. A 2005 Cadillac CTS, driven by Titus Meads (B/M, 24, of Labadieville) was southbound on La 308 near Greenwood Road in north Thibodaux. A 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Clyde Collinson (W/M, 70, of Schriever) was northbound. The Cadillac began to rotate counter clockwise as it crossed the centerline entering the northbound lane. The Cadillac’s passenger side was struck by the Chevrolet’s front end. After impact, both vehicles traveled north a short distance in the northbound lane and came to rest. Meads and Collinson were both wearing their seatbelts during the crash. Meads was pronounced dead on the scene by the Lafourche Parish Coroner’s Office. Collinson sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Thibodaux Regional. Alcohol/drugs are not suspected; however, blood was drawn from both drivers and toxicology results are pending. According to witnesses, heavy rainfall was observed on La 308 at crash time. This crash occurred on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at approximately 6:50 AM. Tpr.
