Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: September 5, 2009 Single Vehicle Crash Claims One Life in Lafourche Parish Thibodaux- A single vehicle crash in Lafourche Parish in Thibodaux claimed the life of one Thibodaux man early this morning. The crash occurred on LA 308 near Tiger Drive in Thibodaux just before 4:00 AM this morning. Tyrone Anderson (B/M, 35, of Thibodaux, LA) was driving north on LA 308 at a high rate of speed in a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero in a slight right-hand curve, crossed the centerline, and went off the roadway to the left. The Alero entered a ditch, struck a utility pole, and overturned several times. As the vehicle overturned, Anderson was totally ejected from the vehicle. The Alero came to rest on its roof in the parking lot of the Bronze Salon. Anderson was pronounced dead by the Lafourche Parish Coroner's Office. Speed is suspected to be a factor in this crash. Anderson was not wearing a seatbelt. Alcohol/drug use is unknown at this time, pending blood analysis by the Lafourche Parish Coroner's Office.
