Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP C- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: July 1, 2009 ***Media Invitation*** Troop C Grant-A-Wish Donates Seventeen Rockers to Children’s Hospital in New Orleans The Louisiana State Police Troop C Troopers’ Association would like to welcome all media to Children’s Hospital in New Orleans tomorrow, July 2, 2009 at 10:00 AM, when the Troop C Grant-A-Wish program donates 17 brand new cypress rockers to the hospital. In September of 1984, the Troop C Troopers’ Association adopted the Troop C Grant-A-Wish Program. The Grant-A-Wish Program enables children with a terminal or life-threatening illness who reside in the Troop C community to fulfill a wish they would not otherwise be financially able to fulfill. The program is open to children up to the age of 18 who have a terminal or life-threatening illness which has been diagnosed by a doctor. Wishes are granted on a case-by-case basis between the Grant-A-Wish Board of Directors, the child’s family, and the treating physician. Troopers and retired troopers from both, Troops C and B, will be present for the presentation of the rocking chairs.
