TROOP C NEWS RELEASE Troopers Make Two Felony DWI Arrests in Terrebonne Parish Overnight Houma – Last night in Terrebonne Parish, Troopers assigned to Troop C made two separate arrests involving impaired drivers with felony related charges. Both drivers could face up to thirty years in prison if convicted. Troopers made the first arrest as a result of a two-vehicle injury crash shortly before 9:30 p.m. last night. Denise Sneeze, 32-year-old of Raceland, was operating a 2009 Nissan Altima on LA 182 near Coteau Road. Sneeze struck a 2010 Ford Escape at the intersection with Coteau Road causing minor injuries to the driver. The driver declined to be transported to a hospital. Sneeze showed signs of impairment at the crash scene and was placed under arrest. She received minor injuries during the crash and was transported to L.J. She also submitted a blood sample and the toxicology report is pending through the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab. Sneeze was booked into the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Center for DWI sixth offense, driving under suspension for previous DWI’s, and careless operation. The second arrest came shortly before 2:00 a.m. this morning as a Trooper was dispatched to a driver asleep behind the wheel in the area of LA 56 near LA 58 in Chauvin. The Trooper arrived on scene and met with the driver, 28-year-old John Allen of Houma. Allen was operating a 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier when he fell asleep behind the wheel in the middle of the highway. Allen was arrested and charged with DWI fourth offense, open alcoholic container in his vehicle, and stopping vehicles in prohibited locations. He was transported to the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Center where he provided a breath sample that tested three times over the legal limit. Whether impaired through alcohol, drugs, or a combination of the two, the consequences of driving while impaired remain the same.
