TROOP C NEWS RELEASE Troopers Investigate Second Single Vehicle Fatality Crash in 24 Hours Grand Bois – Shortly before 11:00 a.m. this morning, Troopers with Troop C began investigating a single vehicle fatality crash on LA 24 near the Grand Bois community. The crash claimed the life of 24-year-old Jaydon Galliano of Galliano, LA. The preliminary investigation indicated Galliano was traveling eastbound on LA 24 in a 2004 Cadillac CTS. For reasons still under investigation, Galliano’s vehicle ran off of the road to the right and struck a tree. His vehicle then struck a second tree and rolled over onto the driver’s side. Galliano was wearing his seat belt but suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash. He was pronounced deceased on scene by the Lafourche Parish Coroner’s Office. Impairment is unknown as a factor in the crash and standard toxicology tests are pending through the Lafourche Parish Coroner’s Office. Although the cause of this crash remains under investigation, Troopers want to remind motorists of the importance of making safe driving decisions behind the wheel. Distractions, impairment, and fatigued driving continue to be factors in preventable crashes. While not all crashes are survivable, proper use of seat belts can greatly decrease an occupant’s chance of death and may greatly reduce the extent of injury. Troopers want to remind you that Louisiana law requires every vehicle occupant, front seat and back seat, to be properly restrained day or night.
