| TROOP C NEWS RELEASE March 5, 2018 Terrebonne Parish Crash Takes the Life of a Dulac Man Ashland – Shortly before 2:30 a.m. this morning, Troopers with Troop C responded to a single-vehicle fatality crash on LA 57 just south of the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Center. The crash took the life of 41 year old Quentin Thomas of Dulac. The preliminary investigation revealed Thomas was traveling south on LA 57 in a 2011 Cadillac Escalade. For reasons still under investigation, Thomas ran off of the road to the left and struck two driveway embankments, causing his vehicle to roll over. Thomas suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene by the Terrebonne Parish Coroner’s Office. Impairment is unknown as a factor in the crash and standard toxicology tests are pending. Thomas was properly restrained at the time of the crash. Louisiana State Troopers wish to remind motorists that while not all crashes are survivable, statistics show that the chances of surviving a crash rise significantly when properly restrained. Making good choices while in motor vehicles such as never driving while impaired, always ensuring every occupant is properly restrained, and avoiding all distractions can often mean the difference between life and death.
