Montegut Resident Succumbs to Injuries in Terrebonne Parish Crash

Bourg – On July 30, 2017 shortly before 10:00 am, Troopers from Troop C were notified of an injury crash on LA 24 near Lecompte Street in Bourg, LA. The crash took the life of 68 year old Danny Danos early this morning.

The preliminary investigation revealed Danos was traveling north on LA 24 in a 2005 Lincoln Town Car. For reasons still under investigation, Danos ran off the roadway to the right and lost control of his vehicle. Danos’ vehicle overturned and came to rest on its roof. He sustained injuries despite being properly restrained and was transported to Terrebonne General Medical Center by Acadian Ambulance Service. Danos died this morning from those injuries and was pronounced deceased by TGMC medical staff.

Impairment is not suspected to be a factor in the crash; however, standard toxicology tests are pending.

Louisiana State Troopers wish to remind motorists that all occupants of a motor vehicle must be restrained, regardless of seating position. While not all crashes are survivable, statistics show that the chances of surviving a crash rise significantly when properly restrained. Making good choices while in motor vehicles such as never driving while impaired, always ensuring every occupant is properly restrained, and avoiding all distractions can often mean the difference between life and death.
