TROOP C - NEWS RELEASE June 8, 2015 Unrestrained Galliano Man Killed in Lafourche Parish Crash Leeville, LA- Shortly after 8:30 am this morning, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop C began investigating a fatality crash that claimed the life of a 64 year old Galliano man on LA 1 in Lafourche Parish. The investigation revealed that a 2000 Dodge Ram was pulling out of a private drive and attempted to make a northbound turn onto LA 1. The Dodge was being driven by James Guidry (W/M age 64) of Galliano, LA. The Dodge pulled into the path of a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu that was traveling south on LA 1. The Chevrolet was being driven by Merissa Shambach (W/F age 20) of Golden Meadow, LA. The two vehicles struck in the southbound lane of LA 1, just south of Golden Meadow. Guidry, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead on the scene by the Lafourche Parish Coroner’s Office. Shambach, who was wearing a seat belt, was transported to Our Lady of the Sea Hospital with minor injuries.
