TROOP C - NEWS RELEASE May 28, 2014 Six New Troopers Arrive at Troop C Gray, LA- Louisiana State Police Troop C received six new Troopers yesterday as they reported to Troop C for their orientation. These six Troopers were among 46 cadets to have recently graduated The Louisiana State Police Training Academy as State Police Cadet Class #92. A rigorous journey that began on January 12th of this year. Cadets trained in areas such as crash investigation, emergency vehicle operations, DWI detection, traffic incident management, and leadership. The graduation ceremonies were held last week in Baton Rouge as Governor Bobby Jindal conducted the oath of office to the newly badged Troopers in the Senate chambers of the Capitol. The new Troopers were each assigned a Field Training Officer (F.T.O.) to help guide them as they make the transition out in the field. Upon completion of the F.T.O. program they will receive their shift assignments and follow in the footsteps of the Troopers before them. “These Troopers have all distinguished themselves during their 19 week training academy, and I am proud to welcome them to the Troop C family,” said Captain Darrin Naquin, Louisiana State Police Captain Troop C. The new Troopers are: Dusten Arabi of Thibodaux, LA. Dusten worked for the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office for six years and finished second in academics. Jarrod Miles of Gonzales, LA. Jarrod worked for the Shreveport Police Department for 3 years. Shane Tilford of Kenner, LA. Shane worked for the Kenner Police Department for 14 years and received awards at graduation as the Top Shooter and the Doug Millet Award as the Top Overall Cadet. Justin Rice of Kenner, LA. Justin worked for New Orleans Police Department for 11 years and received the Physical Fitness award at graduation. Jonathan James of LaPlace, LA. Jonathan worked as a Louisiana Department of Public Safety Police Officer for two years and won the award as the Top Driver during the Emergency Vehicle Operations Center (E.V.O.C.) training.
