Pedestrian Struck and Killed in Terrebonne Parish

Houma, LA- Shortly after 1 AM this morning, a pedestrian was struck and killed on LA 24 in Terrebonne Parish.

The investigation revealed that a 2008 Dodge Charger was traveling north on LA 24 near Oakshire Boulevard in Houma, LA. The Charger was being driven by Hope Grabert (W/F age 28) of Thibodaux, LA. As the Charger was traveling in the right lane of LA 24 it struck Titus White (B/M age 24) of Gray, LA, who was walking on the roadway. Grabert, who was wearing her seat belt, was not injured in the crash. White was pronounced dead on the scene by the Terrebonne Parish Coroner’s Office.

Alcohol use or impairment is unknown, but routine toxicology tests are pending for White. Grabert submitted to a breath test and was found to be below the legal limit of .08g%. Charges have not been filled at this time, and this crash remains under investigation.


Pedestrians should always be aware of their surroundings and make sure to cross intersections and streets when it’s safe to do so. Remember to wear bright and reflective clothing when walking or bicycling at night. Bicycles must also have a lamp mounted on the front that shall emit a white light visible from a distance of at least five hundred feet to the front. They shall also have a lamp mounted on the rear that will emit either a flashing or steady red light visible from a distance of five hundred feet to the rear.


Motorists that witness hazardous situations are urged to call *LSP (*577) and report that activity to the Louisiana State Police.
