TROOP C NEWS RELEASE January 17, 2017 Troopers Seek Public’s Help in Locating Fatal Hit & Run Vehicle Chauvin, LA – State Police Troop C is asking the public for assistance in locating a vehicle that struck and killed a pedestrian in the 5400 block of LA 56. The suspect vehicle is described as a 2010-2011 Chrysler 300. Shortly before 12:30 last night, Troopers from Troop C responded to LA 56 just south of Jane Street in reference to the hit and run. The victim of the crash was 39 year old Taylor Thibodeaux of Chauvin, LA. The preliminary investigation revealed the Chrysler was traveling south on LA 56. For reasons still under investigation, the vehicle exited the roadway to the right and struck Thibodeaux as he was walking on the southbound shoulder. Thibodeaux suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased by the Terrebonne Parish Coroner’s Office. Troopers recovered debris at the scene possibly identifying the suspect vehicle as a 2010-2011 Chrysler 300. The color is unknown at this time, and Troopers suspect there to be minor to moderate damage to the passenger side headlight area. The right headlight should be broken and the chrome molding should be missing around the right fog light.
