TROOP C NEWS RELEASE November 2, 2016 Early Morning Crash Kills One in Lafourche Parish Lockport, LA – Shortly after 3:00 am this morning, Troopers from Troop C responded to a two-vehicle fatal crash on LA 308 near Myrtle Drive in Lockport. The crash took the life of 37 year old Donna Boudreaux of Cut Off, LA. The preliminary investigation revealed Boudreaux was traveling south on LA 308 in a 2004 Ford Taurus. For unknown reasons, Boudreaux traveled off of LA 308 to the left and attempted to reenter the highway by steering to the right. As she reentered LA 308, she struck a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe head-on that was being driven northbound on LA 308 by 53 year old Laurie Rousse, also of Cut Off. Rousse had 53 year old passenger Ann Addison of Galliano, LA inside of her vehicle. Boudreaux sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash and was pronounced deceased by the Lafourche Parish Coroner’s Office. Both Rousse and Addison sustained moderate injuries and were flown to University Medical Center in New Orleans by Acadian Ambulance Air Med. Alcohol and drug use is unknown on the part of Boudreaux and standard toxicology tests are pending. Rousse is not suspected to have been impaired at the time of the crash; however, a blood sample was taken for standard toxicology testing. Boudreaux was properly restrained at the time of the crash. Rousse and Addison were not properly restrained. While not all crashes are survivable, proper use of seat belts can greatly decrease an occupant’s chance of death and may greatly reduce the extent of injury. Troopers want to remind you that Louisiana law requires every vehicle occupant, front seat and back seat, to be properly restrained day or night. Contact Information: | |||
