Unrestrained Driver Killed in Lafourche Parish Crash

Thibodaux, LA- Shortly after 10:30 pm yesterday evening, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop C began investigating a fatality crash that claimed the life of a 36 year old Raceland woman on LA 1 in Lafourche Parish.

The investigation revealed that a 2008 Lincoln MKZ was traveling north on LA 1 near Four Point Road in Lafourche Parish. The Lincoln was being driven by Mindy Boudreaux (W/F age 36) of Raceland, LA. For unknown reasons, the Lincoln traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a concrete driveway causing the vehicle to flip on its roof. Boudreaux, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and pronounced dead on the scene by the Lafourche Parish Coroner’s Office.

Impairment is not suspected, but routine toxicology tests are pending. This crash remains under investigation.

While not all crashes are survivable, proper use of seat belts can greatly decrease an occupant’s chance of death and may greatly reduce the extent of injury. Louisiana law requires every vehicle occupant, front seat and back seat, to be properly restrained day or night. Taking the time to buckle up every trip and every time is the single most effective thing you can do to protect yourself in a crash.

Motorists that witness hazardous situations are urged to call *LSP (*577) and report that activity to the Louisiana State Police.
