TROOP C - NEWS RELEASE October 12, 2015 Unveiling of New Troop C Traffic Safety Billboard Gray, LA- Louisiana State Police Troop C has partnered with Shell Oil Company and the South Central Regional Safety Coalition in an effort to promote safe driving on the roadways. Through a generous grant from Shell, South Central Regional Safety Coalition was able to provide Troop C with a digital LED billboard that was placed at the front of the Troop along LA 24. Troop C was chosen to receive the billboard due to the high volumes of traffic that passes in front of the Troop on a regular basis at the intersection of LA 24 and US 90. This billboard will have the ability to broadcast National and local safety messages ranging from hurricane evacuation information and major road closures to safe driving tips. This new visual outlet allows the Troop to reach passing motorists and help instill good driving habits, which leads to safer drivers and safer roads. Safety is a top priority for Shell. Emphasizing the importance of safety through community involvement and education is a unique opportunity that innovative programs like the LED traffic safety billboard project affords. Through this grant and collaborative relationship with South Central Regional Safety Coalition and Louisiana State Police Troop C, Shell hopes this project will bring visible attention to potential hazards on the roadways and make Louisiana highways safer for all. The event will take place this Wednesday, October 14th at 11 am in the front parking lot of Troop C in Gray, LA (4047 West Park Ave.). Troop C and all other participants would like to take this opportunity to extend an open invitation to the public and media to come out and enjoy this free event.
