| TROOP C NEWS RELEASE April 28, 2016 Troopers Continue Investigation into Assumption Parish Hit and Run Crash Paincourtville, LA- As Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop C continue an investigation into a hit and run crash involving a bicyclist yesterday evening, investigators are asking for the public’s assistance with locating the suspect vehicle. The crash occurred on LA 1 at LA 70 in Assumption Parish between approximately 9:00 and 10:00 pm. Troopers’ preliminary investigation revealed that the crash took place as a bicyclist was traveling south on LA 1 on the southbound shoulder when he was struck by the suspect vehicle. Recovered evidence at the scene has led investigators to identify the hit and run vehicle as a Ford Super Duty truck with suspected damage to be on the front passenger side. The bicyclist was transported to the hospital with moderate injuries. Anyone who has information about this driver or vehicle should contact Troop C at 985-857-3680.
