| TROOP C NEWS RELEASE April 7, 2016 UPDATE: Troopers Arrest Hit and Run Driver after Investigation Gray, LA - Troopers have made 3 arrests resulting from an investigation into the Hit and Run crash that took the life of Troy Jackson yesterday evening. Through help from witnesses and video surveillance, Troopers were able to develop suspects and locate the vehicle involved in the crash, a 1994 Chevrolet Silverado. The driver of the suspect vehicle was 21 year old Draven Henden of Bourg, LA. He was charged with Felony Hit and Run and Obstruction of Justice. Also charged for Obstruction of Justice were 18 year old Valen Billiot and 20 year old Andrew Martin, both of Houma, LA. They attempted to help Henden avoid prosecution by giving false information concerning the crash. All three subjects were booked into the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Center. Video of the suspects is available at the following link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/cvurnc6v4i7oysp/Troopers%20Arrest%20Hit%20%26%20Run%20Suspect?dl=0 Original Release - Shortly before 11:30 pm last night, Louisiana State Police Troop C began investigating a hit and run fatal crash involving a pedestrian on LA 24 South near the Evergreen Cajun Center. The crash took the life of 53 year old Troy Jackson of Houma, LA. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect vehicle was traveling on LA 24 South in the left lane. Jackson was in the left lane of travel as the vehicle approached and struck Jackson. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased by the Terrebonne Parish Coroner. The suspect vehicle was described as mid to late 1990 or early 2000's Chevrolet or GMC truck, blue on top and a silver stripe on the bottom. The vehicle should have damage to the front bumper and hood. It possibly has a broken rear passenger window, as well as a damaged windshield. The suspect vehicle was last seen traveling north on LA 24 North stopping at the Terrebonne Truck Stop. The vehicle was possibly occupied by 2 white/Hispanic male subjects and a white/Hispanic female.
