| TROOP C NEWS RELEASE April 17, 2016 Single Vehicle Crash Kills One In Assumption Parish Bayou L’Ourse – Shortly after 6:30 am this morning, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop C began investigating a single vehicle fatality crash on LA 662 north of US Hwy 90. The crash took the life of 56 year old Bruce Campbell of Morgan City, LA. The initial investigation revealed that Campbell was traveling south on LA 662 when he entered a slight curve to the left. He ran off of the road to the right and struck a driveway, causing his vehicle to roll several times. Campbell was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected from his vehicle. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased by the Assumption Parish Coroner’s Office. Alcohol use is unknown at this time but standard toxicology results are pending. Speed is suspected as being a factor in the crash. While not all crashes are survivable, proper use of seat belts can greatly decrease an occupant’s chance of death and may greatly reduce the extent of injury. Louisiana law requires every vehicle occupant, front seat and back seat, to be properly restrained day or night. Contact Information: | |||
