Original Release – Shortly after 2:30 am this morning, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop C began investigating a multiple fatality crash on LA 182 near Coteau Road. The crash involved three vehicles and resulted in fatal injuries for a driver and two passengers. Troopers’ investigation revealed that the crash occurred as a 1995 Honda Civic was being driven westbound on LA 182 near Lucky’s Casino. It was occupied by 29 year old Christopher Rately of Abita Springs, LA, 22 year old Stephen Buck of Folsom, LA, and 31 year old Rafael Fandino of Metairie, LA. For unknown reasons, the Civic crossed the centerline and struck an eastbound 2016 Ford F-150, driven by 41 year old Jessie Albritton of Houma, LA. After striking the F-150, the Honda Civic continued westbound in the eastbound lane and impacted a 2012 Freightliner 18 Wheeler being driven by 42 year old Maurice James of West Memphis, AR. The preliminary investigation indicates that all three occupants of the Honda Civic were unrestrained at the time of the crash. The occupants were ejected from the vehicle and were pronounced deceased at the scene by the Terrebonne Parish Coroner’s Office. Troopers are additionally working to identify the driver of the Honda Civic at the time of the crash. Seat belts were worn by Albritton and James and they sustained minor injuries.
