Troop B - NEWS RELEASE Louisiana State Police Seize Approximately $16,500 of High Grade Marijuana Troop B – Yesterday, Louisiana State Police Troopers assigned to the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas Task Force (HIDTA) and Bureau of Investigations executed two search warrants in New Orleans, LA, seizing over four pounds of high grade hydroponic marijuana and one shotgun. The warrants were the result of an investigation where the troopers received information regarding the selling of illicit drugs from the two locations. One of the locations, 1614 Esplanade Avenue, is known to house over 15 individuals. Two of which were arrested yesterday, Scott Monaghan (W/M, age 32) and Kody Doiron (W/M, age 21) both of New Orleans. The second warrant was executed at 2820/2822 St. Claude Avenue. More arrests are expected and the investigation is on-going. Monaghan was charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule 1 Controlled Dangerous Substance. Doiron was charged with Simple Possession of a Schedule 1 Controlled Dangerous Substance and several outstanding fugitive warrants from Jefferson Parish and the City of Kenner. The High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) program enhances and coordinates drug control efforts among federal, state and local law enforcement agencies. The program provides agencies with coordination, equipment, technology, and additional resources to combat drug trafficking and its harmful consequences in critical regions of the United States.
