Troop B - NEWS RELEASE Metairie Woman Arrested for Insurance Fraud Troop B – Louisiana State Police Troopers assigned to the Bureau of Investigations Insurance Fraud / Auto Theft Unit arrested a Metairie, LA woman, Angela Bodenheimer (W/F, age 49), on Friday, September 23, 2011 for one count of Insurance Fraud. The arrest was the result of an investigation that began when troopers received a complaint from Progressive Insurance Company regarding an auto insurance claim made by Bodenheimer. The investigation revealed that Bodenheimer was involved in a motor vehicle crash on June 5, 2008 and her vehicle was uninsured at the time of the crash. She was an employee of a local insurance agency and she used her company laptop to obtain an auto insurance policy through Progressive Insurance Company after the crash happened. She then filed a claim for damages sustained in the crash. An arrest warrant was obtained in Jefferson Parish and Bodenheimer was arrested and booked into the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center. The Insurance Fraud / Auto Theft Unit is responsible for investigating referrals of suspected fraudulent insurance acts, assisting federal and local law enforcement in the investigation of fraudulent insurance acts, cooperating with local prosecutors and the attorney general's office in the prosecution of fraudulent insurance acts, and promoting awareness of insurance fraud throughout the state.
