Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP B- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: January 16, 2011 Houston Man Arrested for Possession of Assorted Drugs Troop B – On Friday, January 14, 2011, troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop B stopped a 2010 Toyota Corolla for speeding on I-10 east at mile post 206 in St. John the Baptist Parish. Upon further investigation, troopers found a suitcase in the back seat containing numerous prescription pill bottles containing 558 assorted tablets of Hydrocodone, Xanax, Soma, Listnopril and Oxycodone. Troopers also found a prescription bottle containing liquid codeine. Troopers arrested Jason E. Thompson (B/M, age 30) of Houston, Texas for Possession of Schedule II, IV and V Controlled Dangerous Substances. Thompson was booked into the St. John the Baptist Jail. Driving under the influence of illegal and prescription drugs can be deadly and you can be arrested for DWI. There is no difference between drug impairment and alcohol impairment under Louisiana’s DWI laws. If you are caught driving impaired you will be arrested.
