Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP B- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: November 23, 2010 Manager of Grand Isle Bar Arrested Troop B – Today, Louisiana State Police Troopers assigned to the Bureau of Investigations Gaming Division arrested Frank J. Marullo (W/M, age 62) of Grand Isle, LA, on charges of Falsifying a Video Gaming Application. The investigation began in October 2008, when the LSP Gaming Division received information indicating that Marullo was working in a managerial position at Arties Sports Bar located at 3162 Highway 1, Grand Isle, LA without meeting suitability gaming requirements. A subsequent video gaming application stated that Marullo was not acting in a managerial capacity; however, investigators found that Marullo was exercising significant influence as the manager of Arties Sports Bar. The LSP Gaming Audit Division conducted an audit of Arties Sports Bar and found that Marullo had signatory authority over the licensees’ business checking account, was intricately involved in the payroll process, day-to-day operations of the business, and handled large amounts of cash withdrawals from the business account. Investigators also found that Marullo falsified his prior criminal history on the gaming application. Marullo was arrested at Arties Sports Bar and transported to the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center. Falsifying a Video Gaming Application charge is a felony with up to ten years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.
