Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP B- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: February 1, 2011 Two Jefferson Parish Men Arrested for Possession of Stolen Property Troop B – On January 31, 2011, troopers assigned to the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations Insurance Fraud / Auto Theft Unit arrested two men from Jefferson Parish for Possession of Stolen Property valued at $27,000.00. The investigation began in July 2009, when troopers received information related to several vehicles with missing Vehicle Identification Number plates at a vehicle repair location in Plaquemines Parish. After several months of investigation, troopers located a 2003 Chevrolet Pick-Up truck and a 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trak, which were verified as stolen vehicles. The VIN number on these vehicles had been switched. Troopers also executed two search warrants at JET Trucking Company located at 6715 4th Street in Marrero, LA. JET Trucking is owned and operated by John Early (B/M, age 59) of Marrero, LA. During the search, troopers recovered a 1998 Freightliner Tractor Truck, a 2000 Ford Explorer, and parts from a stolen 2007 Lexus RX350. Early and Joseph Dardar (W/M, age 38) of Crown Point, LA, also submitted fraudulent documents to the State of Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles to register the stolen vehicles with the switched VIN numbers. On January 10, 2011, arrest warrants were issued in Jefferson Parish for Early and Dardar and on January 31, 2011 both suspects surrendered to troopers and were booked into the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center on charges for Possession of Stolen Property and Filing False Public Documents.
