Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP B- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: April 4, 2011 Louisiana State Police Troop B Investigates Fatal Crash in St. John the Baptist Parish Troop B- On Sunday, April 3, 2011, shortly after 5:00 AM, St. John the Baptist Sheriff’s Office and Louisiana State Police Troop B responded to a call for service in reference to an unresponsive male subject lying in the roadway of LA 3223 (Elm Street) at US 61 (Airline Drive). During the initial investigation, deputies were unable to determine a cause of death, pending an autopsy report. The male subject was identified as Joseph C. Magee (B/M, age 46) of Reserve, LA. On Monday, April 04, 2011, an autopsy was conducted at the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office and the cause of death was consistent with that of a subject being struck by a vehicle. The hit and run fatality investigation is being conducted by the Louisiana State Police Troop B.
