Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP B- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: March 15, 2011 Gretna Man Arrested on Criminal Sexual Charges Troop B – Yesterday, detectives assigned to the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations arrested a 45 year-old Gretna man on numerous counts of criminal sexual misconduct, including Aggravated Rape, Aggravated Incest, Aggravated Sexual Battery and Indecent Behavior Involving Juveniles. State Police Detectives received information that a young girl was sexually abused by her father approximately five (5) years ago. After confirming this information, the investigation revealed three additional victims molested by the same suspect. Child Forensic Interviews confirmed the three victims’ statements. Arrest warrants were issued through the 24th Judicial District Court and the suspect was arrested and booked into the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center and held on an $805,000.00 bond. The Office of Child Services and the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office have begun their own investigation in an effort to connect any past complaints with the suspect. The Louisiana State Police remains committed to investigating and arresting those who sexually exploit and victimize our children. Through Operation Child Watch, troopers will continue to work in conjunction with local, state, and federal agencies throughout Louisiana to actively pursue child predators and ensure the safety of our children.
