TROOP B - NEWS RELEASE February 26, 2013 Two Teenagers Arrested for Possession and Intent to Distribute Numerous Illegal Narcotics Louisiana State Police (LSP) Troopers assigned to the Bureau of Investigations High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas Task Force arrested two teenagers after an investigation that began in February 2013. LSP, working in conjunction with the Department of Homeland Security Customs and Boarder Protection and the US Postal Service, was made aware of a package containing 107 grams of MDMA (also known as Ecstasy) destined for 642 Broadway Street, New Orleans, LA. Troopers delivered the package and arrested Jules Staib (W/M, age 19) of Baton Rouge, LA and Wyatt Silverman (W/M, age 19) of Pittsburg, PA on charges of Possession with Intent to Distribute MDMA. Both individuals were booked into the Orleans Parish Correctional Center. During a subsequent search, troopers also seized 57 dosage units of LSD, 69 grams of Psilocybin Mushrooms, 48 grams of Opium, 22 grams of Marijuana, .80 grams of Cocaine and .91 grams of DMT (Dimethyltyptamine). The teens were also booked with Possession of Illegal Narcotics Schedule I and Schedule II and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The illegal narcotics have an estimated street value of $10,000.00. The High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) program enhances and coordinates drug control efforts among federal, state and local law enforcement agencies. The program provides agencies with coordination, equipment, technology, and additional resources to combat drug trafficking and its harmful consequences in critical regions of the United States.
