TROOP B - NEWS RELEASE February 22, 2013 *Traffic Advisory* Belle Chasse Bridge Closure / Belle Chasse Tunnel Accepting Two Way Traffic On Saturday, February 23, 2013 beginning at 5:00AM, the Belle Chasse Bridge (LA 23) will be closed to traffic both north and southbound. The Belle Chasse Tunnel will be allowing two-way traffic while the bridge is being repaired. The closure will last until midnight (12:00 AM) Sunday, March 5. 2013. During the closure period, the following vehicles will be prohibited from entering the Belle Chasse Tunnel:
· Pick-Up trucks with any type of trailer, including boats and motor homes All other motor vehicle traffic will be allowed in the tunnel. Law enforcement officials will be in the area monitoring and assisting with the flow of traffic. Prohibited vehicles can detour the area via the following routes:
· From Plaquemines: LA 23 to LA 406 over the Intercoastal Canal Bridge to General De Gaulle Drive To report stalled vehicles or unsafe roadway conditions, you may dial *LSP (*577) from your cellular phone to reach the State Police office closest to you. For road closure information, please call 511 or visit www.511LA.org.
