TROOP B - NEWS RELEASE June 5, 2013 Runaway Juvenile Recovered in Sexual Exploitation Case On June 4, 2013, Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations was notified of a missing 17-year old juvenile from Texas by the FBI Child Exploitation Task Force that was in the New Orleans area. Information was received after investigators found advertisements for the juvenile on a New Orleans Escort website. The juvenile agreed to meet with the undercover agent and a traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle the juvenile exited from. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Eric Nettles (B/M, age 31) of Metairie, LA. Nettles was found to be in possession of a stolen .357 handgun. He was placed under arrest for Pandering, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and an active arrest warrant. Additional criminal charges are pending. The juvenile was taken into custody and turned over to the NOPD Juvenile Center and will be reunited with her family. “Partnerships and good communication between federal, state and local agencies was the key to saving this young lady’s life,” said Colonel Mike Edmonson, Louisiana State Police Superintendent. “When we work together, the outcomes result in more cases prosecuted and a safer environment for Louisiana citizens.” If citizens have information related to criminal activity, they are encouraged to use the “See Something Send Something” application which will connect them and their mobile devices to criminal intelligence centers nationwide. “See Something Send Something” is a nationwide suspicious activity reporting (SAR) tool for citizens to help in the fight against terrorism and criminal activity.
