High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) Lanes on Crescent City Connection Bridge

The Department of Public Safety would like to remind motorists about the requirements related to the HOV lanes on the Crescent City Connection Bridge. HOV lanes are reserved for motorcycles (one occupant) and vehicles with two or more occupants ONLY. (See the list below of prohibited vehicles.) The locations of on-ramps and times are listed below.

West to East 5:00 AM – 11:00 AM
US 90B West elevated portion (on-ramp on the left before toll plaza)
US 90B at Terry Parkway (on and off ramp on lower level expressway)
US 90B at General DeGaulle (on and off ramp on lower level expressway)

HOV lanes are closed from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM

East to West 1:00 PM – 3:00 AM
Convention Center Boulevard near Calliope (on and off ramps)
Earhart Boulevard at Magnolia St. (on and off ramps)

HOV lanes are closed from 3:00 AM – 5:00 AM

The following vehicles are prohibited from accessing the HOV lanes:
Trucks with more than two axles or having a gross weight capacity of 1 ton or more
Vehicles towing trailers
Parades
Funeral processions
Pedestrians and/or bicycles
Non-motorized vehicles


The Crescent City Connection Bridge is patrolled by Department of Public Safety Officers and Louisiana State Police. Enforcement of HOV lanes will continue in order to prevent any injuries or crashes. Please adhere to the times and directions the HOV lanes operate within. If you witness any hazardous situation, please call *LSP (*577) to report the activity.
