TROOP B - NEWS RELEASE
August 27, 2012
Closure of US Hwy 90 And LA Hwy 23 St. Charles Parish: Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) will begin closing US Hwy 90 at midnight on August 28, 2012 in order to construct hesco baskets across the roadway. The detour route will be US Hwy 90 at Interstate 310, on the west side and US Hwy 90 at Live Oak Street, on the east side. It will take DOTD approximately 12 hours to complete the closure.
Plaquemine Parish: DOTD will begin closing LA Hwy 23, approximately a half of a mile south of Walker Road, at midnight on August 28, 2012 in order to construct hesco baskets across the roadway. There will not be a detour route around this area. It will take DOTD approximately 12 hours to complete the closure.
Louisiana State Police will be at each location to provide safety for the work crews. LSP will have troopers stationed at the detour routes in St. Charles Parish and Plaquemine Parish Sheriff’s Office will have deputies stationed at the LA Hwy 23 closure. Motorists are asked to plan ahead and to avoid these areas.
