Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP B- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: October 31, 2008 Single Vehicle Fatal Crash on LA 632 near U.S. 90 On Friday, October 31, 2008 at 2:59 pm, Louisiana State Police, Troop B investigated a single vehicle fatal crash on LA 623 (WPA Road) near U.S. 90 in Des Allemands. The crash involved a 2002 Dodge Dakota pick-up driven by Mr. Roland J. Daigle (W/M, 63 yrs), of Des Allemands, LA. The Dodge was traveling westbound on LA 632 at which time the driver veered off the roadway to the right entering a drainage ditch. Once in the ditch the Dodge struck a tree head on. Mr. Daigle was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Mr. Daigle suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead on the scene. Speed and driver impairment are not considered factors in the crash. Family member confirmed that Mr. Daigle was diagnosed with heart disease, which is suspected as a factor.
