Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP B- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: February 16, 2009 Impaired Drivers Checkpoint On Tuesday, February 17, 2009 the Louisiana State Police, Troop B will conduct an impaired driver’s checkpoint somewhere in Jefferson Parish, between the hours of 6:00 pm and 6:00 am weather permitting. This checkpoint will focus on any driver who has consumed alcohol or drugs. If these drivers are found to be impaired, they will be removed from the road and arrested. This is a continuing effort conducted by the Louisiana State Police to educate the public of the dangers of impaired driving and reduce the number of impaired drivers on the roadway.
